Community Partnerships

We currently have over 20 community partners, including Southern Methodist University, Trinity River Mission, Builders of Hope, and Habitat for Humanity.  We continue to build our network of businesses and other organizations interested in supporting the goals and objectives of the West Dallas Education Task Force.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Mentors (grades 4-12), tutors (math, science and reading) and Pathways volunteers
• Support for college mindedness; assistance with SAT prep and college applications
• Support for Young Parent Program – Trainers and childcare providers
• Facelift for Edison Jr. High School – paint interior

Immediate Funding Needs

• Funding for planning team to travel to exemplary urban schools ($12,000)
• SAT prep classes and DCCCD scholarships ($1,500 per student per year)
• Athletic and summer program support ($1,500-$5,000 per program x 6 schools
